US Open 2010 – Federer’s wonder shot
United States tennis championship is called the US Open. It is one of the top four grand slam events, which takes place every year. US Open is taken place in Queens at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York City. This US Open there has been several promotional merchandise sold of Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick. They are the favourites so we are not very surprised by with to be honest.
Though having said that Roddick has been knocked out of this year’s US Open in the first round by Serb Janko Tipsarevic. This is a big surprise to many of us and also Roddick’s fans. He was looking good as he worked hard on his fitness. Many people have counted Roger Federer out after his dismal grand slams in Wimbledon and French Open but can you really call it dismal because he did win the Australian Open. The World number one Rafael Nadal is another favourite with the bookies to win this year’s US Open. As Nadal has never won an US Open title he must be eager to do so sooner than later. Nadal recently took Roger Federer spot as World number one.
As US Open is his favourite surface many believe this year Andy Murray will win his first ever Grand Slam title of his career. In the recent hard court tournament in Toronto, Andy Murray beat both Nadal and Federer to take the title. So he has shown that he can beat these guys but can he do it in the big stage. In his career he has reached two grand slam finals one at US Open and another at Australian and both times he lost to Federer. He certainly wants to improve his finals record.
