Lawn Mower Racing
A new vehicle taking over racing is lawn mower racing. The United States Lawn Mower Racing Assc supports the group. (USLMRA).
Outhouse Racing
Each year in Michigan, the annual outhouse races are held in the snow. Each racing team has three people, two pushers and a rider. There are specific rules as to the shape and design of the outhouse in order to qualify. The outhouse must have a toilet eat and a toilet paper hanger, or it wouldn’t be considered a real outhouse.
Street Luge
This is a sport where a person lies down on a skateboard and races down a paved hill at high speeds. A skilled racer can actually travel anywhere from 40 to 70 mph on their skateboard.
Man vs. Horse Marathon
This Welsh sporting event is an annual event where people on horseback race against humans on foot in a running race over 22 miles long. Women can also compete in it. Because of its long distance, humans have a chance at winning. Some times the winner has been a horse, other times it has been a human. Most of the time the horse has the advantage.’’
Buzkashi
Buzkashi is a sport from Central Asia where both players are on horseback. You want to grab a headless carcass of a goat or calf and throw it into a scoring area while still on the horse. There are no rules, players can do anything necessary to keep their opponents from scoring, including using whips on the players or horses. This game is very dangerous and requires skilled riders.
Elephant Polo
The only differences between Elephant polo and regular polo on horses is that the elephant is much slower. Each team has three or four elephants and each elephant has two people on board, one is a player, the other is a professional handler. The object is to score the most goals by the end of the game.
Trugo
Trugo is like croquet , but a mallet that is used and played on grass. The object of this unique game is to rack up as many points as you can by hitting the rubber rings known as wheel through goal posts.
Cheese Rolling
Cheese rolling is a sport in England that takes place each year on Cooper’s Hill in Gloucestershire. The hill is very steep and a wheel of cheese is rolled down Cooper’s Hill. The object of the game is to chase the cheese and be the first one with the cheese at the bottom of the hill.
Unicycle Hockey
Unicycle hockey is like ice hockey or roller hockey without the use of skates. You basically try to score goals like a regular hockey game while being on a unicycle the entire time.
Ultimate Frisbee
Created by a New Jersey high school student, Ultimate Frisbee is where a team needs to score a goal with a Frisbee in the end zone. There are seven team members on the field at a time.
