Nadal vs Berdych Wimbledon 2010 Final

The Spaniard, Nadal is still only 24 and he has already won his 8th Grand Slams. People were talking about whether he will be able to be as strong as he was before his knee operation and now he has proven that he is fit and playing well than ever by winning the Wimbledon and the French Open recently. The guy is truly magnificent. Millions of promotional merchandise were produced after his win at Wimbledon and also the football team’s semi final spot, if you visit Spain at this time you will see how excited they are about tennis and football. It does look like it will be Spain’s year but then again Germans are always there to cause an upset.

The start of the tournament in SW14 was absolutely amazing this year. In the first week of Wimbledon there were some great matches played. There were unseeded players giving the top seeds a lot of problems. Nadal and Federer both had 5 set matches in the first week. Remember that marathon match between two good players Mahut and Isner. They played the longest match in the history of Wimbledon which included the longest set in the history of tennis. John Isner, the American overcame the challenge of Nicolas Mahut in the fifth set by 70-68.

The weather also didn’t let the tournament down. There was no rain in Wimbledon this year, which has never happened since 1995. No rain in Wimbledon, really? Surprising isn’t it? The tournament finished in two weeks and saw a new champion in the form of Rafael Nadal who beat Czech Thomas Berdych in straight sets in the final.

That is why all the Spanish fans these days are wearing promotional clothing of Nadal and showing him their support and backing him for the next grand slam the US Open. Even I have bought few promotional pens, which clearly says Rafa is the best well not literally. I know few people who would love this as a gift as they absolutely adore Nadal.

Some people believe that this year’s Wimbledon was the best ever Wimbledon ever, what do you think?

Whose Next?
