The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t posted as the faves in the AFC North in 2010 NFL preseason wagering probabilities.

The Houston Texans are a team that ought to put up a lot of points in 2010 NFL preseason gambling. They have a solid offense headed by quarterback Matt Schaub and wide receiver Andrew Johnson but an average defense. The Texans are 26-1 long shots in NFL preseason lines to win the Super Bowl.

2010 NFL preseason betting probabilities show the Texans as 3-1 to win the AFC South division. The Houston Texans commence their preseason from Arizona on August 14th. They stay on the road in Week 2 at the defending Super Bowl champ Saints. Dallas and Tampa Bay will face them at home in their final two preseason matches.

The Texans could struggle in NFL preseason lines because they only have Dan Orlovsky as the backup quarterback. He was not that good with Detroit but Houston may have to use him this year if anything happens to Schaub. The Houston Texans have the best receiver in football wagering lines in Andre Johnson, although he will not play very much in the preseason. Although Kevin Walter has been strong, the Texans do need some other competitors to step up at receiver. The fantastic news for the Texans is that tight end Owen Daniels comes back from injury. The Houston Texans still don’t have a steady running game. Arian Foster hasn’t demonstrated he can last a full year while Steve Slaton is sporadic. The squad did get Ben Tate in the 2010 NFL Draft so maybe he can assist.

The defense starts off the season already in major trouble. For the first 4 games of the season, Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Cushing is suspended. Throughout the early part of the season, he is going to be missed. The secondary is not very excellent and with Cushing out they are likely to be even worse because they will have to help stop the run. A year ago, safety Bernard Pollard saved the Houston Texans time and again. He made substantial plays in the secondary as well as was a major run stopper.

The Houston Texans do not have much depth though they are a team that has plenty of expertise. If Schaub or Johnson gets hurt they’re done. Their defense is also weak and the loss of Cushing really hurts. The Texans are always regarded as a team that can make the playoffs. Since Gary Kubiak has had more than enough time, if they don’t make it this year they may be looking for a new head coach.
