Can the Saints buck the NFL probabilities and repeat as Super Bowl champs? As of the past 15 Super Bowl champs, only 2 have duplicated, winning consecutive Super Bowls is quite tricky to do.

New Orleans is +670 in NFL lines at the online sportsbook to win Super Bowl XLV.

It’s difficult only to have success the following year on top of how challenging it’s to repeat as a Super Bowl champion. Last year’s Super Bowl champ has struggled so many times in recent seasons. So the question to answer for the 2010 year is whether or not the Saints can repeat. Both sides of the argument have a case, so let’s look at them.

Of Course, the New Orleans Saints Will Repeat – The New Orleans Saints are not your standard Super Bowl champion. They still do not have the headline rep of a Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh or Indianapolis. They aren’t even the favorites in NFL odds to repeat. The Colts, who the New Orleans Saints defeated in the Super Bowl, receive that particular honor. The public isn’t in love with them when betting football and the Saints do not have a big head. Another thing that helps the Saints is that they didn’t lose anybody in the off-season. The offense is packed directed by Drew Brees who’s 1 of the greatest quarterbacks in the league. Pierre Thomas may be the most underrated running back in the league and the New Orleans Saints have a stable of receivers who are terrific. New Orleans is very well coached with Sean Payton and he already appears to have his squad past last year’s Super Bowl victory. This doesn’t seem to be the  concern in New Orleans, but some teams take all year to forget about winning the Super Bowl. The New Orleans Saints are loaded with talent and will win it all again.

No, the New Orleans Saints Won’t Repeat – History is against the Saints total and in their own division. There has yet to be a consecutive victor in the NFC South. The New Orleans Saints have to get past a pretty talented Atlanta team that looks poised for a big year. Atlanta’s schedule is also more positive than theirs is to New Orleans. The Saints play their most difficult games on the road while the Falcons play their toughest games at home. The Saints will be devoid of Darren Sharper for the first 6 competitions and the reason the New Orleans Saints won a lot of games last season was turnovers and Sharper was their critical competitor on defense. The New Orleans Saints won’t repeat with the schedule against them in NFL odds and without their best defensive player.
