Credited with bringing opera to the football masses courtesy of Luciano Pavarotti’s rendition of ‘Nessun Dorma’, resulting in it being adopted as a football anthem. Such was it’s popularity following the World Cup, the song was released by the ‘Three Tenors’ and reached number 2 in the UK singles charts. Seems like only yesterday…
