Fitchburg: Worcester Hydraulic Elevator @ Excercise and Sports Science Building, FSU

This is the Worcester Hydraulic Elevator, in the Excercise and Sports Science Building, at Fitchburg State University, Fitchburg, Massachusetts. This building used to be a double-decker apartment house, partially in transition to it’s current use. At first, I thought this was a LULA to travel only a few feet, but this serves both main floors, and this lower entry. At the top, we get to see that portion is still under construction, but stayed in the lift. As for the elevator itself, it’s actually nice. It’s smooth, gentle, but the “ACME” (CEelectronics) floor counter just didn’t go with the rest of the fixturing. Still, very nice.
